Welcome to Mrs. Balas' Fourth Grade class.

Hello!
My name is Aimee Balas, and I have had the great pleasure of  teaching here at Montague Charter Academy for the Arts and  Sciences for 17 years!
I grew up in Burbank, California, and attended Occidental College where I graduated Magna Cume Laude with an MFA in Theater, emphasis in acting, and a BA in English and Comparative Literary Studies. I received my teaching Credential from National University and have done all of my teaching and coursework here at Montague.

I live here in Los Angeles, with my husband, daughter, and our Yorkie Zuzu. In my free time, I enjoy reading, walking my dog, and spending time with my family.

I love teaching, and once you have been one of my students, you will always be one of my kids.

Hello!
Welcome to the 2021 -2022  School Year!Thank you for visiting my page! Our class has been very busy this Winter and will continue our exciting learning into Spring.  One thing that our class has been working hard at is learning our multiplication facts and mastering division. Another exciting time for our class is when we read our novels together as a class. We are currently enjoying our third novel called The Chocolate Touch.
We are very happy to announce that we will be going on a field trip on April 19th to the VT ranch in Santa Clarita! This hands on, interactive trip will bring the learning that we have done about the Native American tribes that once inhabited our area into a real-life experience for our fourth graders!
* Please continue to assist your students at home by checking their homework daily, making sure that they read for at least 30 minutes, and ensuring that they eat a healthy breakfast ( or get to Montague to eat breakfast here) and arrive at school on time.
Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions!
